1. What ZORVIN-AG Syrup is and what it is used for

ZORVIN-AG Syrup is used for the symptomatic relief of cough associated with bronchospasm in conditions such as:

  • Bronchial asthma
  • Chronic bronchitis

It contains:

  • Levosalbutamol (a bronchodilator that relaxes airway muscles)
  • Ambroxol Hydrochloride (a mucolytic that thins mucus)
  • Guaiphenesin (an expectorant that helps remove mucus from respiratory passage)

2. What you need to know before you take ZORVIN-AG Syrup

Do not take ZORVIN-AG Syrup

  • If you are allergic to levosalbutamol, ambroxol, guaiphenesin, or any of the other ingredients
  • If you have ischaemic heart disease or significant risk factors for it
  • If you have thyrotoxicosis

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine if you:

  • Have heart disease, high blood pressure, or irregular heartbeat
  • Have diabetes, hyperthyroidism, or seizure disorders
  • Have kidney or liver impairment
  • Have a history of gastric ulcer
  • Have conditions with impaired mucus clearance

Seek medical advice immediately if you experience:

  • Chest pain
  • Worsening breathlessness
  • Severe skin reactions or allergic symptoms

Children
This medicine should not be used in children below 2 years of age

Other medicines and ZORVIN-AG Syrup
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, including:

  • Other cough and cold medicines (including OTC products)
  • Beta-blockers
  • Diuretics
  • Antidepressants (e.g., MAO inhibitors, tricyclics)
  • Antibiotics (e.g., amoxicillin, erythromycin)

Do not use with other cough suppressants or similar medicines without consulting your doctor.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pregnancy: Do not take during the first trimester. Use during later pregnancy only if clearly advised by your doctor.
Breastfeeding: Not recommended during breastfeeding unless advised by your doctor.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Driving and using machines
This medicine may cause dizziness, tremor, or palpitations. If affected, do not drive or use machines.

3. How to take ZORVIN-AG Syrup

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Recommended dose

  • Children 2–6 years: 2.5 ml three times daily
  • Children 6–12 years: 5 ml three times daily
  • Adults and children above 12 years: 10 ml three times daily

Method of administration
For oral use. Take with food.

Important instructions

  • Do not exceed the recommended dose
  • Do not take for longer than prescribed
  • Do not use with other cough and cold medicines without medical advice

If you take more ZORVIN-AG Syrup than you should
You may experience symptoms such as:

  • Fast heartbeat
  • Tremor
  • Nervousness
  • Nausea

Contact your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital.

If you forget to take ZORVIN-AG Syrup
Take it as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

If you stop taking ZORVIN-AG Syrup
Do not stop treatment without consulting your doctor.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Common side effects

  • Palpitations
  • Tremor
  • Headache
  • Nausea, vomiting
  • Dizziness

Uncommon/Rare side effects

  • Gastrointestinal discomfort
  • Dry mouth or throat
  • Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling)

Serious side effects

  • Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)
  • Severe skin reactions (e.g., Stevens–Johnson syndrome)
  • Low potassium levels

Stop taking the medicine and seek immediate medical attention if you notice serious side effects.

5. How to store ZORVIN-AG Syrup

  • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children
  • Do not use after the expiry date stated on the pack
  • Store below 25°C
  • Protect from light
  • Do not freeze

6. Contents of the pack and other information

What ZORVIN-AG Syrup contains
Each 5 ml contains:

  • Levosalbutamol (as sulphate) – 1 mg
  • Ambroxol Hydrochloride – 30 mg
  • Guaiphenesin – 50 mg
